The ANA website is owned and operated by The Applied Neuroscience Association Limited (ANA). We are excited to have you aboard - thank you for choosing to use our platform.  Below are the terms and conditions that apply to anyone using our website. Visitors should be aware these Terms are intended to make our services possible and to protect you and ANA. If you have any queries about or suggestions on how we can improve them, you are welcome to contact us.

“ANA” / “our” / “we” / “us” means The Applied Neuroscience Association Limited;

“Systems” include but is not limited to online chat facilities, member area and email links to ANA.

6.2 ANA does not guarantee specific results from the use of its services. No part of this Website, including its content, services, or systems, constitutes advice, including medical advice, and should not be relied upon for making any decisions or taking any actions, including personal medical or related protocols.

6.3 ANA’s content, services, and systems are not intended for diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any medical or psychological or other diseases or conditions.

6.4 While ANA uses reasonable efforts to ensure that the Website, its content, services, and systems are secure and free of errors, viruses and other malware, users are advised to take personal responsibility for the security of their devices and data.

6.6 ANA does not store passwords on this Website.

8.6 These Terms of Use have been drafted to comply with the relevant provisions of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and are applicable within the United Kingdom. 8.7 By using the ANA Website, users agree to indemnify ANA against any claims arising from their failure to comply with local regulations​.

9.1 No failure or delay by ANA in exercising any right, power, or remedy under these Terms of Use shall operate as a waiver of that right, power, or remedy. Nor shall any partial exercise preclude any other or further exercise of that or any other right, power, or remedy.

9.2 No waiver by ANA shall be effective unless it is in writing and signed by an authorised representative of ANA. The retention of rights and remedies shall not be affected by any grace or leniency extended, ensuring that ANA's rights remain enforceable at all times.

9.3 This clause applies in all jurisdictions, but the governing law for the interpretation and enforcement of these Terms of Use shall be that of England and Wales. International users acknowledge that local laws may affect their rights and obligations and agree to comply with such local laws as applicable.

10. Previous Terms of Use

10.1 In the event of any conflict between these Terms of Use and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms of Use shall prevail unless expressly stated otherwise. This ensures that the most current terms are legally binding and override previous agreements where discrepancies exist.

10.2 The agreement created by these Terms of Use is strictly between the User and ANA. No third party shall have any right to enforce any part of these Terms of Use under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or equivalent laws where you are located.

10.3 These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. International users should be aware that while these terms aim to comply with UK law, local regulations in their jurisdiction may affect their enforceability. Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant local laws and understanding how these may impact their rights and obligations.

11. Communications

11.1 All communications or notices to ANA should be sent via email to info@theappliedneuroscienceassociation.com. For legal notices, they will be considered validly served if sent electronically with a verifiable tracking system (e.g., certified return receipt) or, if posted, upon receipt verified by a signature from the named recipient.

11.2 ANA may periodically send users information about changes to these terms or updates to the website, content, services, and systems. Users who do not wish to receive such communications can follow the unsubscribe process provided at the bottom of any email or adjust their personal notification preferences.

11.3 Users should be aware that communications are governed primarily by the data protection laws of the United Kingdom, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users accessing translated versions of this website should ensure that local communications practices align with applicable laws in their region

12. Conduct

12.1 Any users of the ANA website, ANA social platforms, systems, services, and content must comply with the ANA Ethical Charter. Users must avoid any conduct that disrupts, harms, or disrespects others. 

12.2 ANA refers to the Ethical Charter when engaging with global partners or sponsors ensuring transparency and ethical practices in all interactions. 

12.3 ANA maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to discrimination, hostility, or behaviour that undermines the dignity of any individual. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive language, intimidation, threats, or discriminatory actions based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

12.4 ANA is committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, in its operations, membership and events. 

12.5 These terms apply to all users, regardless of jurisdictional claims. ANA Members are reminded that this policy is consistent with and further detailed in the ANA Ethical Charter, which they agree to upon joining.

13 Payment Methods

13.1 Payment methods accepted by ANA for any paid membership, content, services, products or access to systems are outlined on the relevant page checkout process.

13.2 All payments are processed using secure, third-party payment processors. Users must ensure their payment details are accurate and up to date.

13.3 Refunds for membership registration is governed by the ANA Refund Policy.

13.4 ANA hosted Events ticketing policy is governed by the policy stipulated for each Event regarding payment, cancellation, terms, attendee conduct and any accessibility provisions.

13.5 Users are responsible for any fees related to currency conversion or international transactions.

14. Law and Jurisdiction

14.1 These Terms of Use and the relationship between the User and ANA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of England & Wales. ANA and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England & Wales, except where local laws mandate otherwise for specific claims or protections relevant to your region.
