WHO IS ANA?

Becoming a member of The Applied Neuroscience Association (ANA) offers a unique opportunity to join a growing Association that is advancing the field of applied neuroscience. Membership gives you access to a global progressive Network of 1000+ members, soon expanding to an ANA Chapter near you!

At ANA, we believe the emerging Brain Economy is about more than elevating brain health as an 'economic instrument'. It’s about realising human potential through the paradigms of:

neurodiversity: natural variation in human brain function and behavioural traits, encompassing typical and atypical neurodevelopment

neuroavailability: reflects a dynamic state influenced by internal and external factors like brain health, regulation and environment.

neuroequity: fair access to interventions, education, and healthcare — addressing disparities across communities and populations

neurocapacity: collective cognitive and emotional potential within a workforce or society — and how environments support or inhibit it

neuroagency: capacity of individuals and communities to understand, harness, and shape their own brain health and futures

neurocitizenship: individuals are not just passive recipients of neuroscience, but active participants in shaping ethical, inclusive, brain health

The ANA Network is open to everyone and its free, to encourage enthusiasts to explore and learn more about the brain! Whether your a curious learner or a seasoned academic/professional, ANA offers resources, events, and connections to deepen understanding of neuroscience applications in society realising human potential.

The ANA Community comprises registered full members, associate members, and student/graduate members, connected through the ANA Community Platform, where they can access each other, the Neuro CHARTER and Neuro LEARN.

Registered members commit to the ANA Ethical Practice Guidelines (AEPG), with access to pathways for professional development, recognition. As we pursue Professional Body membership with the Science Council, this will enable future accreditation and a Chartered Scientist pathway for full members.

ANA offers pathways for students, graduates, early-career professionals and associate members too. These provide access to mentorship across the Full Member Community, opportunities for development and guidance to help you establish further qualifications and experience, including links with relevant external networks.

For registered members, we meet on zoom on the last Thursday of every month, from 12:00 to 13:00 BST. Invitations are sent via email, so be sure to check your inbox! For details about upcoming Events, visit the Announcements section on the homepage or explore the NeuroEvents Calendar
