Professional Body
Emerging cross-sector professional body
As the first professional body for applied neuroscience in the world, ANA is shaping the future of this field by:

-
Defining Professional Standards – established qualifications and standards to delineate applied neuroscience jurisdiction and to seek uniformity of expertise in practice.

-
Establishing an Ethical Charter – developing codes of ethics to guide professional conduct and maintain public trust.

-
Education & Training – setting up CPD educational requirements and training programmes to ensure practitioners meet established standards.

-
Advocating for Authority – Lobbying for authority to regulate the profession, establishing applied neuroscience as a recognised profession across industry, education, and healthcare

-
Recognition - pursuing formal recognition through instruments like Science Council Membership that demonstrates our commitment to supporting excellence in our scientific community, and the potential for a Royal Charter which grants independent legal personality, and defined objectives and governance structures
Science Council Professional Registration
Professional registration with the Science Council is a future goal for ANA. We aim to become a licensed professional body, enabling us to offer our members a direct route to registration, including titles such as Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Registered Scientist (RSci).

In the meantime, ANA members may still apply for professional registration directly through the Science Council — provided they meet the eligibility criteria, including membership with one of the Council’s existing Licensed Bodies.

We will share updates as ANA progresses toward becoming a licensed body.
ANA Member Badges
ANA Members receive a Member Badge to display as they wish on social profiles, business websites, professional networks and collaborating with ANA on events. These badges demonstrate a commitment to ethical practice, professional development, and advancing applied neuroscience.

Each badge signifies a member’s alignment with the ANA Ethical Charter, their chosen Social Pledge(s), and engagement with the wider neuroscience and interdisciplinary community. Whether you are a Full, Associate, or Student/Graduate Member, your ANA badge represents your dedication to ethical and professional standards in practice.
