Heema combines over 17 years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience with neuroscience to help leaders and teams apply its principles to enhance profit, employee well-being, and long-term growth. Her expertise is showcased through her engaging content series, ‘Neuroscience Unplugged’ (see links below), where she bridges complex ideas with practical applications.

In addition to her work in applied neuroscience, Heema has extensive expertise in the field of psychical research. This area of study, acknowledged by academic institutions since the late 19th century, explores phenomena that were historically investigated under the discipline of experimental psychology. Prestigious institutions like Cambridge and Oxford established Societies dedicated to this research, such as the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), founded in 1882.

Early areas of focus included thought-transference, mesmerism, mediumship, odic force, apparitions, and séances, all approached with a commitment to scientific rigour. The SPR emphasised the importance of conducting investigations "without prejudice or prepossession of any kind, and in the spirit of exact and unimpassioned scientific enquiry."

While often misunderstood, psychical research operates within a science-based framework that distinguishes it from pseudoscience or fringe science. It represents a niche area of study grounded in the same principles of empirical investigation and open-minded inquiry that characterise all rigorous scientific disciplines.

As a Founding Member of ANA, Heema has made an extraordinary contribution to advancing our mission for social impact. Her dedication and generosity have been evident in many ways, from leading digital marketing efforts, raising awareness of ANA Events, to leading initiatives that drive positive change, as a speaker and advocate for community engagement. In addition, she led the Pint of Science ANA Collaboration for the Psychedelics Event in 2024, collaborating with and bringing in 3 guest speakers who discussed psychedelics and women's health, clinical trials and psychological studies, expanding our learning of this field.
